Definition

Military presence includes the “peacetime presence of a foreign military on the territory of another sovereign state without interference into the host’s domestic authority structures” (Schmidt 2014, pp. 817-818) with the consent of the host state (Martinez Machain and Morgan 2013, p. 102).
